Jesus told Peter to cast his hook into the
Sea and from the first
Fish you catch
take it up,
For there will be a gold coin in its mouth.

A simple task,
Like casting a hook
Into the sea—
Like reading a book that catches
Your eye—
Only to discover a
Gold Coin in the fish’s mouth enough to cover
Your bills
Or
To read a poem in this book
Only to discover wisdom
Needed for a particular situation
You are facing.
Unexpected treasures await
each stanza.
